It was developed by Apple and the company's subsequent success goes without saying, but 15 years ago, Alexander Henry McIntosh started a furniture manufacturing company in the small town of Kirkcaldy in Scotland. The company was named after him, AHMcINTOSH.
In the 1970s, they produced a succession of Scandinavian style furniture, which was popular at the time, and due to the quality of their designs and construction, they established a major position in the Scandinavian style furniture industry in the UK alongside G-Plan etc. Today, they are one of the three major brands in British vintage furniture.
