    Please check carefully by placing your knees on the seat and pushing firmly against the backrest.
    If you have any concerns, please discontinue use immediately.

Things you need to know before performing maintenance

Furniture composition

The painting process is wood (base material) → stain → lacquer . Most of the products sold at camori are lacquer finished.

Furniture is usually finished with oils and waxes to protect the paint film, but since the late 1960s, with the advancement of industrialization, lacquer has come to be widely used for furniture finishing in order to mass-produce it cheaply. The thickness of the lacquer layer varies depending on the degree of deterioration over time and the number of coats applied during manufacturing.

Lacquer properties

Water soluble

Lacquer is water-soluble.
Therefore, if water is left on the surface, the lacquer coating will peel off and become thinner, causing fading and scratches. If water droplets are left on a cup or other object, it may cause ring marks.

Heat sensitive

Lacquer is sensitive to heat, which can cause the paint to turn white and in some cases peel off.
If the wood comes into contact with something hot, such as cigarette ashes, the heat may reach the wood and cause it to burn.
Even if you have placed a trivet or other container underneath, please avoid placing hot items on it.

Weak to alcohol

Chemicals such as alcohol and detergent will dissolve the lacquer finish, causing the paint to peel and fade.
Restoration Finish contains a component that dissolves lacquer slightly to repair minor surface scratches, so using it too much can actually cause deterioration.

Maintenance method

Maintenance of painted parts

Basic care is sufficient with a damp cloth and a dry cloth.

If the lacquer has deteriorated significantly and feels dry to the touch , apply Feedewack once every three months; otherwise, apply it whenever you notice it , such as during your big end-of-year cleaning.

Regarding existing damage to the product

There is information on the Internet that suggests you can fix the item by ironing it with a wet towel, but this is not a lie. At Camori, if this applies to your case, we will repair it before listing it for sale.
This will not repair scratches caused by placing something hot on it or alcohol.
If you want to restore the item to a better condition than when you first purchased it, the only option is to repaint it. (Some items may have been repainted before being listed.)

Wobble maintenance

To fix wobble at home, we recommend using Wobble Shut .

Wobble Shut

This is a repair agent that improves creaking and wobbling of wooden products. It expands the fibers to eliminate gaps and repairs wobbling. Rather than gluing loose parts, it expands the wood fibers themselves to eliminate gaps.

How to use

Insert it into the gap of the loosened part and inject enough liquid.

After injection, the product will dry and expand for 24 hours (at room temperature of 20 degrees). Please check the back of the package for detailed instructions on how to use.

*A single repair will not fix the wobble permanently. Please repair as needed whenever you notice wobbling.
