Collection: Paulownia wood

Paulownia is a member of the sesame family and has different characteristics from ordinary wood. (Damp-proof, antibacterial, heat-retaining, flame-resistant, corrosion-resistant, etc.) The surface of the material is rough, so it is hygroscopic. The structure of the material is similar to that of polystyrene foam, and it reacts sensitively to humidity, expanding and contracting the material itself to provide a damp-proof effect. It also contains ingredients called paulonin and sesamin, which make it difficult for insects such as fleas and mites to attach to it and have excellent antibacterial properties. Its ignition point is high at 425°C, so paulownia chests are fireproof in the event of a fire. It contains tannins with a high antiseptic effect, so it can be used for a long period of time. It can be said that it is one of the most suitable materials for furniture in Japan, where the temperature and humidity change with the seasons.
