Collection: Kitano Home Design Company

Kita no Jyutaku Sekkeisha was established in 1985 when store designer Yasunobu Watanabe took over a closed elementary school and opened a furniture workshop. Kita no Jyutaku Sekkeisha's policy is to create furniture that can "continue to live as a tool for the same number of years that a tree takes root in the soil." Based on his experience of homestaying with a farmer in Finland, Watanabe does not create furniture as an industrial product, but rather thinks of it as a tool to be used a lifetime and passed on to the next generation. He uses solid wood to create durable products that take advantage of the quality of the materials, and strives for a natural finish, using furniture that can be repaired in a timeless way.
