Collection: Stringing (line inlay)

Stringing (line inlay) is a decorative technique for crafts that involves carving thin linear grooves into which wood such as satinwood, ebony, or holly, or metal such as brass, is fitted to create patterns or letters. It can be used in conjunction with marquetry to bring out the decorative parts, or as a simple decoration using only stringing, making it one of many different ways of expression.
