Founded in 1923 in Dordrecht, the Netherlands, as a manufacturer of copper hooks, the company manufactures and sells a wide range of home appliances, electrical appliances, and kitchen supplies, and has established a reputation in the Netherlands for its functionality and design.
In the 1980s, Metaltex of Switzerland absorbed Tomado, and many European manufacturers continued to sell Tomado's designs, and many of their products are still sold today.
