Collection: Birdseye Maple

Bird's-eye maple is known as one of the hard maple woods. It has a distinctive grain with spiral spots that resemble the eyes of a small bird, called "bird's-eye" wood, and is a very rare wood (only found in about 1 in 2000 trees), so it is traded at 20 to 50 times the normal price. It is highly valued as a material for high-end furniture and musical instruments.
