Collection: Maple

In Japan, it is called maple or momiji. It is very prone to graining, and is widely used as decoration due to its beautiful appearance. It is a hard and tough wood, with an even surface and no clear annual rings. It is hard to crack and easy to process, so it is used for bentwood furniture, musical instruments, toys, carvings, and other crafts. Maple wood can be broadly divided into two types: "hard maple wood," which is heavy and strong, and "soft maple wood," which is about 25% softer than hard maple. In addition to using it as wood, the sap can be used to extract flavorings and sugar.
