Collection: Cantilever Chair
A cantilever chair is one in which the seat is supported only on one side (usually the front of the seat) rather than on four legs. A representative example is the steel pipe chair introduced in 1926 by Dutch architect Mart Stam, who was also a lecturer at the Bauhaus. "Cantilever" is an architectural term meaning "cantilever beam (a beam with only one end fixed)."
