It is primarily used for sporting goods, oars, bats, hockey sticks, etc. Common uses include plywood, veneer, interior materials, furniture, and flooring. When dry, it is very strong and impact resistant. Black ash, which has poor quality, grows in southern North America, but is not suitable for the high-quality uses of white ash, and is used for wooden frames and barrels.
