Collection: Art Deco

Following the Art Nouveau period, Art Deco was popular from the mid-1910s to the 1930s, mainly in Europe and America (New York). While Art Nouveau was characterized by organic designs that made extensive use of curves reminiscent of plants, Art Deco is characterized by symbolic expressions using geometric motifs and contrasting expressions using primary colors. The designs of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Frank Lloyd Wright are also considered to be part of the Art Deco movement.
