Collection: Windsor Chair
A general term for British folk-style chairs that originated from lathed chairs that began to be made in the 16th century. There are many variations. Windsor chair researcher Ivan G. Sparkes defines it as "a chair with a thick wooden seat as the base, and the legs and spindles of the chair are directly attached to the seat." It is still made by various manufacturers today, and has been redesigned since ancient times, and is said to be one of the origins of modern chair design.
