This is a coating that protects wooden furniture with soapy water, and is a finish that is often used for Scandinavian furniture. Soapy water is used to remove dirt, and the soapy coating protects the wood and makes it less susceptible to dirt. Unlike oil, it feels smooth and comfortable to the touch, and is very close to the bare wood texture. It will develop a glossy finish and a rich texture as you use it.
