Collection: Tendo Woodworks TENDO
Founded in 1940 as the Tendo Mokko Furniture and Fittings Industrial Association, the company changed its name to Tendo Mokko Seisakusho Ltd. in 1942 and then to a joint-stock company in 1948, becoming Tendo Mokko. Originally, the company manufactured military supplies such as ammunition boxes and wooden decoy machines for GI-type airplanes, but after the war it began making furniture such as cupboards, rice cookers and sinks. The company was the first in Japan to establish plywood molding techniques, and is highly regarded in the industry for its top-class processing techniques. Since its founding, the company has aimed to "make furniture that adds color to life and enriches times" based on the basic philosophy of "making good things last longer."
