The Hornsea Pottery Company Limited was established in 1949 in East Yorkshire, England, with investment from the Lawson brothers, Colin and Desmond, and Philip Clappison. With sophisticated designs and durable quality suitable for everyday use, Hornsea ware has been popular in a wide range of situations, from hotel buffets and cafes to ordinary homes. Hornsea closed down in 2000, but its popularity remains high, and products from that time are rare and traded at high prices as collectibles.
