Collection: TRUCK FURNITURE
Simple and unpretentious, "the most ordinary furniture in the world." Truck furniture, a furniture brand beloved by many celebrities today, has always aimed to be "ordinary furniture." Its unique taste is unaffected by trends and gives off a sense of core strength. The appeal of this brand is its furniture, which uses solid wood and iron to create a stylish and warm atmosphere without being overly decorative. Truck furniture was founded in 1997 by Norihiko Kise and Hiromi Karatsu. The first store was opened in Tamatsukuri, Osaka, and the second store, "AREA 2," was opened behind the first store (moved to Asahi-ku, Osaka in 2009). The two founders met in 1991. Kise, who had just become independent as a furniture craftsman, and Karatsu, who was working as an illustrator at the time, each brought their work to the same general store, which led to a kindred spirit and the two opening a furniture store together. Truck furniture is unconventional, but rather supports the realization of comfortable living behind the scenes. Many celebrities and artists have fallen in love with its simple appeal. It is well known that famous designer Nagaoka Kenmei was inspired by truck furniture and created "D&DEPARTNENT". In addition, the brand is supported by many other celebrities, including singer-songwriter Yamazaki Masayoshi. The furniture catalog "MAKING TRUCK" was a huge hit, selling over 50,000 copies, and the brand was featured on the NHK program "Top Runner". The adjacent cafe "Bird" is also popular.
