Iittala began in 1881 as a small glass factory in the village of Iittala, Finland. They brighten and enrich people's daily lives, and they continue to live on through the ages. They exude a unique personality, yet blend into everyday life and are easy to use. Their designs express the personality of the person who owns them, and they never get tired of them. That is what Iittala creates. Pioneers such as Alvar Aalto, Aino Aalto and Kaj Franck, who led the development of the Iittala brand, brought with them the belief that design is an idea and should be accessible to everyone.
