The brand was founded in South Africa in 1959 when the furniture business of brothers Owen and Derek Frye merged with GH Starck Ltd. Aiming to create "furniture for the people," the brand developed functional and beautiful products. In 2023, Andy Goedhals relaunched the brand, incorporating environmentally friendly manufacturing methods and modern designs. Even today, the brand is popular as a symbol of the mid-century era due to its sophisticated design and durability.
