Collection: Marks & Spencer
This long-established department store began in 1884 when immigrant Michael Marks opened a store at Kirkgate Market in Leeds. With little money and poor English, he adopted the slogan "Don't ask the price, it's a 'Penny.'" and quickly grew the store into a thriving business. He then opened the first Penny Bazaar stores with Tom Spencer, who worked as a cashier at Dewhirst. As of 2023, Marks & Spencer has over 1,000 stores in the UK and over 400 stores in about 30 countries.
