Collection: Piet Hein

Born in 1905, Piet Hein was neither an architect nor a designer, but a philosopher, poet and mathematician. He created a new oval shape, the "Super Ellipse", for installation at Sergels Torg in the centre of Stockholm. Working with Swedish designer Bruno Mathsson, he used the shape of this Super Ellipse to create the "Super Ellipse Table". Fritz Hansen began producing this table in 1968.
