Shredding process

This technique is used to prevent cracks, holes, knots, and other flaws in wood from spreading further or to prevent them from becoming unusable. Small butterfly-shaped pieces of wood are embedded to prevent cracks and fill holes, and the julienne not only serves its technical purpose, but also creates a butterfly pattern that serves as a design accent.
