Collection: Shirakawa

Shirakawa began as a lumber manufacturer under the name Shirakawa Sawmill Co., Ltd. in August 1960, and changed its line of business to furniture manufacturing in January 1971. After the period of high economic growth, in the 1970s, the Hida Woodworking Association received its long-awaited corporate status, and held a Hida Furniture New Works Exhibition in Tokyo to promote the quality of Hida furniture to the whole country. Shirakawa also began manufacturing and selling original products that incorporated a Japanese sensibility into the dining area, and series such as the "Lautrec" developed around this time have remained popular for over 20 years since their release, becoming long-selling models that remain popular even now.
