This is a curry plate with removable dividers by zen to, a Hasami ware ceramics brand.

I often use a curry plate with a divider that allows me to serve one meal on one plate. It's convenient because there's less washing up to do. However, when I buy a plate, I have a hard time deciding whether to get one with two or three curry compartments. It would be nice to have three compartments, but I can't always make three side dishes. I came up with a way to solve this problem. Just make one of the dividers removable. On days when I make a lot of things, I put the divider on, and on days when I want to just make one type of curry and side dish, I remove it. Since it's porcelain, it can't be completely sealed if the curry is soupy, but it's very useful. This plate can be used by both people who like a lot of curry and people who want to eat a lot of rice. All you have to do is turn the plate upside down.
