This is a Nordic style British vintage writing bureau.
The L-shaped writing bureau is a bureau desk that allows you to see the attention to detail of craftsmen in Matsumoto, a long-established producer of Japanese furniture, with its authentic design influenced by traditional Western furniture styles, deep coloring, and the beauty of the details carefully finished by the craftsmen. The product is made of Mizumezakura cherry trees that are 200 to 300 years old, which are difficult to obtain and difficult to process, and is finished from start to finish by a single craftsman. It is firmly assembled using traditional Japanese techniques, painted with a paint that gently penetrates the wood, and finally, the craftsman's name is engraved on the back of the furniture to complete it. This is to clarify the responsibility of the product and also to express the pride of the craftsman. The deep dark brown paint color changes to a tasteful amber color the more it is used. The calm appearance with a first-class style and the rustic texture of the selected wood create a unique and tasteful atmosphere.
After the war, modern Scandinavian design became very popular, and Scandinavian-style furniture began to be made in the UK as well. The UK's high level of technology and production capacity, which had a foundation in traditional furniture making, made it possible to produce high-quality furniture. Representative British manufacturers include G-PLAN, which was one of the first to adopt Danish design, and the long-established Scottish manufacturers AHMcIntosh and Nathan. There were also many other excellent Scandinavian-style furniture manufacturers. Scandinavian-style furniture made in the UK during the mid-century period is still highly regarded today for its quality and design that is comparable to authentic Scandinavian furniture, and has become increasingly popular in recent years.
