This is the Sierra Series side cabinet designed by Victor Bramwell Wilkins for G-PLAN.
This side cabinet can also be used as a base cabinet for the Sierra series wall units. It is a compact-sized cabinet that can be used for multiple purposes, such as a display stand, telephone or fax stand, desk-side storage, console table, or sideboard.
The Sierra series was released in the 1970s. It is characterized by a design based on straight lines like the early Brandon series, and is a departure from the rounded Nordic style silhouettes of the Fresco and Brasilia series, which were inherited from the Danish series designed by Larsen. This series is truly a return to the origins. It is a popular series that is said to have sold the most of all G-PLAN series, but the number of units imported to Japan is extremely small, making it a very rare item.
The design has details in common with the circular table designed as part of the Fresco series living collection. It is a long table called a long john table that goes well with a three-seater sofa. It is a highly practical table with a glass top in the center and a rack underneath that doubles as a display and storage space.
