This is a vintage Danish wall mirror designed by Ib Kofod-Larsen for G-PLAN, a representative mid-century brand in the UK.

The extremely rare Danish series dresser designed by master designer Ib Kofod-Larsen was originally designed as a dresser with a mirror, but it has also become a standard to remove the mirror and use it as a desk and wall mirror separately. The linear and simple design unique to the Danish series makes it a very high quality item even as a standalone mirror.

In the 1960s, when genuine Scandinavian furniture started to enter the British market, G-Plan felt a sense of crisis and invited Danish designer Ib Kofod-Larsen to develop the Danish furniture series, which was born in Britain. This furniture series uses teak, which was the symbol of Danish furniture at the time, and has a strong craft feel, with a focus on design and quality. The meticulous quality of the series made it very expensive, so there was very little distribution, making it a rare G-Plan series that is rarely seen on the market.

Ib Kofod-Larsen (1921-2003)

He was one of the pioneers of the second golden age of Scandinavian modern design in the 1950s, known as Danish Modern. He valued the natural material of wood without being influenced by the times, and elevated traditional furniture design. He is a designer who has spread Danish design to the world. After graduating from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, he produced industrial products and workshop furniture. He entered the Snaker Guild, a competition for Danish craftsmen at the time, and won the Snaker Guild Award. He has also won many other awards, including a gold medal at the HOLMEGAARDS Glass Competition. His representative work is the Elizabeth Chair, which was announced by the Danish Cabinetmakers Guild in 1956. It became a hot topic when Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip purchased it during their stay in Copenhagen in 1958. Other representative works include the IL-10 Easy Chair and the Danish Series by British manufacturer G-Plan. It is loved by many people along with furniture by masters such as Wegner, Finn Juhl, and Arne Jacobsen.
