This is the Fonseca dining chair designed by John Herbert and produced by Younger, a brand representative of the British mid-century period.

This high-quality chair has a simple design with beautiful deep natural wood tones, and you can feel the maker's attention to detail. Like other British vintage chairs from the same era, the design has a Nordic essence, but the beautiful, smooth form from the backrest to the legs gives it a sophisticated British impression. This is a rare item from Younger, a high-end brand that is rarely seen in Japan.

The Fonseca series was released in the 1960s. It was designed by John Herbert, Younger's design director. Some of the furniture in the Fonseca series won awards from the Makers Guild and was very popular at the time. It is a series that is synonymous with Younger.

Younger Ltd

This brand was a leader in the Scandinavian style boom in the UK from the 50s to 70s. Design director John Herbert aimed to be at the top end of the market with a style of producing high-quality items in small quantities. In the 1960s, the brand won three awards from the Guild of Furniture Makers. It has gained a position as a top brand representing the UK mid-century in both quality and substance. In the vintage market, the brand is less well known and fewer products are distributed than G-PLAN, but the quality of its products, which are luxurious and crafted with great attention to detail and targeted at the wealthy, is unmatched.
