Founded in 1945 in South Wales, UK by Ernest Bevin. It started as a government-run welfare factory that employed war wounded and disabled people. Initially, it produced furniture and violins, and in 1946 changed its name to "Remploy" as the business expanded. It manufactured a large amount of furniture for schools and educational facilities, and its high-quality products were highly praised. Its products up until the 1960s were characterized by sophisticated designs that incorporated simple and beautiful lines based on the Danish style that was popular worldwide at the time.
