This is the Blue Label Quaker chair by ERCOL, a long-established British furniture manufacturer founded in 1920.
The Quaker Chair is a redesign of the traditional Windsor bowback chair, with a striking sharp silhouette on the back. Its unique form is created by a beautiful single curve created by bent wood processing. With a high backrest and a comfortable design for relaxing, it is a long-selling design among Ercol products. The spokes and materials of the backrest are different between the reproduction and vintage products, with the vintage product being "5 spokes, elm wood x beech wood", while for a period just before the current model, a "6 spokes, elm wood x beech wood" vintage model was produced, which is a middle ground between the current model and the vintage model.
The blue label was used from 1954 to around 1976. The version of the label that said [MADE IN ENGLAND] was used from 1957 to 1976.
