This is the Form FIVE series bookcase/custom iron legs designed by Roger Bennett for G-PLAN, a brand representing the British mid-century.
This is a custom wall unit from the Form FIVE series with the upper section customized with iron legs called hairpin legs. It has been reborn with a more modern and industrial feel while retaining the individuality and atmosphere of G-PLAN at the time.
Form FIVE, designed by Roger Bennett and released in 1967. Its simple design based on straight lines has a cool and sophisticated appearance. There are two patterns: a simpler design without handles, and a design with handles accented with a sturdy square brass handle. *The handleless cabinet sliding doors have a special rail structure that makes the two doors flat when closed. There are very few of these in Japan, so they are very rare items that are very difficult to come across.
A designer who was mainly active in G-PLAN during the mid-century period. He supported G-PLAN together with Eve Kofod Larsen and Victor Bramwell Wilkins, and created several furniture series. The hit series, Quadrille, is still very popular today. Bennett's designs are characterized by their linear and elegant lines, while incorporating the simple Scandinavian style.
