This is the "Sierra" side cabinet designed by Victor Bramwell Wilkins for G-PLAN, a brand that is emblematic of mid-century Britain.

Sierra is popular for its simple and stylish design. It is a compact cabinet that can be used for multiple purposes such as a base cabinet for wall units, a display stand, a telephone or fax stand, deskside storage, a console table, or a sideboard.

The Sierra series was released in the 1970s. It is characterized by a design based on straight lines like the early Brandon series, and is a departure from the rounded Nordic style silhouettes of the Fresco and Brasilia series, which were inherited from the Danish series designed by Larsen. This series is truly a return to the origins. It is a popular series that is said to have sold the most of all G-PLAN series, but the number of units imported to Japan is extremely small, making it a very rare item.

Victor Bramwell Wilkins

A British designer who was with G-PLAN from its founding. He was a talented designer who was praised as being on par with the great designer Eve Kofod-Larsen within G-PLAN, and was responsible for G-PLAN's hit series "Brandon" and "Brasilia", as well as G-PLAN's biggest hit series, "Fresco", which is also popular in Japan. He also designed many other furniture pieces for G-PLAN over a long period of time, leaving behind many excellent designs. He is still highly regarded today as one of the hidden great designers who supported G-PLAN's rapid growth.
